Reframe the drives and win the trip. Yes — 8, 5, and 9 hours across three days. Also yes: the Tichka, the kasbah road, and two great gorges ARE the show between the dunes. Guests who treat the vehicle as a front-row seat rate this tour highest, because that’s what it is.
Never skip the sunrise. Warm blankets argue hard at 6:15. Overrule them — dawn on the dune crest is the single best quarter-hour of the tour, and you can sleep all the way to Ouarzazate afterward.

Buying the cheapest square deal. Merzouga’s rock-bottom tours run packed vans, bait-and-switch camps, and commission stops. Every sad Sahara review you’ve read was purchased at a discount.
Expecting these dunes in 2 days. Physics declines. Two days reaches Zagora’s small dunes (honestly lovely, honestly small); the Erg Chebbi requires three. Anyone promising otherwise has told you everything.
Being surprised by day three. The nine-hour return is on this page in bold because it should be on every page selling this loop — and mostly isn’t. Foreknowledge turns it from grievance into nap.
