About Morocco Desert Hub — Your Local Morocco Travel Experts

We didn’t build Morocco Desert Hub from an office in another country, studying maps and reading reviews. We built it here, in Morocco, from a simple belief: that the difference between a good trip and an unforgettable one comes down to the people who plan it and the people who guide it. We are those people — born in this country, raised in its cities and villages, and proud to share the Morocco we know with travelers from around the world.

This page is our story, and an honest introduction to who you’ll be trusting with your journey.

Our Story

Morocco Desert Hub was founded in 2010 by Salmane, who grew up in the Dades Valley — the dramatic stretch of kasbahs, gorges, and palm oases on the old road between Marrakech and the Sahara. He began his career as a local guide, leading travelers across the dunes of the Sahara and through the ancient streets of the imperial cities — and seeing, again and again, how often visitors were sold rushed, impersonal tours that barely scratched the surface of the real country.

Salmane wanted to do it differently: to create journeys with room to breathe, led by local people who genuinely love their home, and priced fairly because they were booked directly — not resold through middlemen abroad. What started in 2010 as a handful of private trips, led personally by Salmane, has grown over more than a decade into the team you’ll meet today — but the original promise hasn’t changed.

Who We Are

We are a small, dedicated team of Moroccan travel specialists, guides, and drivers — all local, all licensed, all deeply knowledgeable about the regions they work in. The guide who walks you through the Fes medina grew up in those nine thousand lanes. The Berber drivers who take you into the Erg Chebbi dunes have been reading the desert since childhood. Our team works from offices in Marrakech, Casablanca, and Fes — covering the country’s main gateways — planning your itinerary, answering your questions, and staying reachable around the clock while you travel.

We are a registered Moroccan travel agency, licensed by the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism under license number 258147369. We are not a reseller — when you book with us, you deal directly with the people responsible for your trip.

What We Believe

Everything we do comes back to a few simple values.

Authenticity over performance. The family you share mint tea with is a real family, not a tourism prop. The artisans you meet are at work, not on a stage. We open doors to the living Morocco rather than staging a version of it.

Time to actually be somewhere. We build pauses into every itinerary. You won’t be rushed past a kasbah to keep a schedule. The Sahara deserves at least one sunrise; Fes deserves more than an afternoon. We plan accordingly.

Honesty in everything. Clear itineraries, itemized inclusions, fair prices, and straight answers to your questions. If a route is too packed to enjoy or a season isn’t ideal for what you want, we’ll tell you.

Genuine care. We measure success not by how many sights you ticked off, but by the moments you’ll be talking about for years.

Why Travelers Choose Us

There are many companies offering Morocco tours. Here’s what makes travelers choose Morocco Desert Hub:

  • We’re truly local — first-hand knowledge of every region, from the Sahara and the Atlas Mountains to the imperial cities and the coast.
  • You book direct — no international markup, no middleman, just a fair price and a direct line to your team.
  • Private and customizable — every journey is shaped around your dates, your pace, and your interests.
  • Handpicked stays — authentic riads, kasbahs, and quality desert camps, never anonymous chain hotels.
  • Licensed local guides in each city and region, not just a driver.
  • 24/7 support on WhatsApp throughout your trip.
  • Transparent from start to finish — you always know exactly what’s included.

Our Commitment to Responsible Travel

As locals, we care about Morocco’s future as much as your experience of it. We work with family-run riads, Berber cooperatives, local guides, and small suppliers so that your trip supports the communities you visit. We believe travel done well leaves a place better than it found it — and we plan our journeys with that in mind.

Meet the Team

Behind every Morocco Desert Hub journey is a small team of local people who treat your trip as if it were their own.

Salmane — Founder, CEO & Manager. Born and raised in the Dades Valley, Salmane founded Morocco Desert Hub in 2010 and oversees every itinerary personally, making sure each journey lives up to the promise the company was built on.

Ali — Sahara Desert Guide. Ali knows the dunes of Erg Chebbi and the kasbah routes of the south better than almost anyone — he’s the guide who makes sure you’re in exactly the right place for sunrise over the sand.

Simo — Marrakech & Atlas Mountains Guide. Simo leads travelers through the souks and palaces of Marrakech and up into the Berber villages and valleys of the High Atlas.

Jamal — Fes & Imperial Cities Guide. Jamal brings the medieval medina of Fes and Morocco’s imperial cities to life, sharing the history hidden in their ancient streets.

Together, Salmane, Ali, Simo, and Jamal bring first-hand knowledge of Morocco’s deserts, mountains, and ancient cities to every trip — the kind of local insight no guidebook or international reseller can offer.

Daniel Roberts Traveler

“Our trip with Morocco Desert Hub was smooth, comfortable, and very well organized from the first message until the end of the tour. Soulaymane helped us plan the itinerary, answered all our questions, and made sure everything was clear before we arrived. The desert experience, the riads, and the scenic stops were even better than we expected. We felt safe, welcomed, and truly connected to Morocco.”
